
The primary objectives and purposes of MyTheatre in the Oakland Community:
To provide healing through the use of theatre/drama techniques for the betterment of children suffering from mental anguish due to family issues, school bullying, cyberbullying, inclusive of any other detrimental issue which might affect their mental health.

Professional teacher with Drama/Theatre experience.
Alejandra P. Leon received her B.A. from San Francisco State University in Drama and Cinema in 2018.
Alejandra received her MSW from her Alma Mater in Social Work in May of 2024 with her PPSC.
Alejandra is a registered ASW and is working on fulfilling licensing requirements for her LCSW while working for the County.
Access to counseling professionals in severe cases.
MyTheatre will be able to provide mental health resources for the county of Alamer
Theatre production and performances.
Children will be involved in all performances at the end of the year which will be a fundraiser. Tickets will be sold as a pay what you can.
Exposure to all aspects of theatre production including, set design, costuming, etc.
As an actor, Alejandra P. Leon, will bring her experience and education to children, including bringing experts to teach a class.
Theatre History.
Children will learn how and why theatre began. This will be incorporated in all sessions to some degree.
Guidance with playwriting structure to create original works.
Children will be writing their own short stories, plays, and screenplays which will be performed throughout the year.
Mental Health Reflection
Most importantly, our sessions will all include mental health reflections to help children ease any anxiety or behavioral issues they might be experiencing. Please make sure to speak to Social Worker Alejandra Leon for any severe or questionable cases.
